Police are seeking witnesses and information regarding two incidents where traffic cones were thrown onto the A14.
The first incident occurred at around 5:50pm on Monday 14th October and the second just after 6pm on Tuesday 15th October. Both took place on the eastbound carriageway of the A14, between junctions 43 and 42, near Bury St Edmunds.
In the Tuesday incident a Ford Fiesta collided with a traffic cone that had been thrown from a pedestrian bridge, causing damage to the vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
After the second incident two white males dressed in black were seen fleeing the area on Raynham Road, one of them with a push scooter.
PC Jonathan Burke from the Roads and Armed Policing Team stated, “We take this matter very seriously. Although no one was hurt on either occasion, throwing objects into moving traffic poses a significant danger and could result in severe injury or even loss of life.”
Anyone who witnessed these events or has relevant information is urged to contact Suffolk Police, quoting crime reference 37/59035/24.
