Police have arrested and charged three males after incidents at mobile phone stores in Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds.

In the Newmarket incident, which took place on Friday 11th October at around 12.35pm, two people entered the Vodafone store on the High Street, stole a large amount of phones, tablets and Chromebooks and left the scene.

In Bury St Edmunds on the same day, a little earlier at the O2 store in the Buttermarket at around 11.30am, two people entered the store, accessed the back of the store but did not take anything and left empty-handed.

Some prompt cross-border working between Suffolk and the Met Police located the suspects’ vehicle in the Ilford area and three arrests were made. They were brought back to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Elise Vasile, 20, of Kibble Close, Romford, was charged with conspiring to steal from a shop and use of a motor vehicle with no insurance, and two 17-year-old males, one from Romford and one from London, were charged with conspiring to steal from a shop.

All three were remanded and were due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today, Monday 14th October.
